Monthly Meetings Converge in 2023
To accommodate members who live away from Las Cruces, all our meetings and educational events will take place at the same time, at the same place. Additionally, the education portion for 2023 will consist of critiques of members’ writing, panel sessions, and writing seminars as we did in 2022.
When
For 2023, Las Cruces Writers will meet on the second Saturday of each month from 2:30 PM to 4:30 PM.
Where
The meetings are held at Good Samaritan Village in the Creative Arts Room, 3011 Buena Vida Circle. Enter through the main administrative building entrance (parking is to the east of the building) and turn left in the first hallway to reach the room.
Educational Events
At our last membership meeting (October 2022) the attendees stated they wanted to continue with some critiques of member’s writing. We will do this once every quarter we meet (three critique sessions during 2023). If you want to have your writing critiqued, contact David Osterhout.
The members also requested some panel discussions so for the second meeting of each quarter, there will be a panel discussion (four panel discussions during 2023, the last being in October). Each panel member will talk for 10 minutes and then the panel will answer questions from the floor. The panel discussion will be run by a moderator.
The third meeting of each quarter will present a writing seminar like what we did in 2023 on one Saturday each month. Each seminar will not be longer than 90 minutes. For 2023, LCW will present three writing seminars. They were selected as the most popular requests from our members during our last writing seminar in October 2022.
