Las Cruces Writers Group is a group of published and aspiring writers who gather together to promote literature and its creation. Our tagline is “Writers Helping Writers” and we mean it. Join with us to help yourself and others to become published writers. Sell books. Invent worlds and histories.
The Group has been in existence off and on for over 27 years, but because the group consists entirely of volunteer writers and authors there have been times when the group has not been as active or as focused as it is today.
In 2020 George Pintar, an 89-year-old new author himself, took up the reins of the group and gave it a vision: writers helping writers. With that motto in mind, the group has expanded from a handful just a few months ago to over 30 active members today and includes those who are just thinking about writing to those who are published.
The group is result-oriented and the monthly meeting includes a general business session, followed by breakout sessions on the topics of publishing, marketing, book signings, writing, editing, and support of each other to get writers’ ideas from mind to pen to publication.
